North East England

NCFE Course Delivery 2024-25

Policies and Procedures

For the 2024-25 academic year, the BFI Film Academy Short Courses in North East England are delivered by a regional consortium of organisations, three of which are running the course with accreditation from NCFE. The qualification that students will work towards is the NCFE Level 2 Award in Preparing to Work in the Film Industry (course code 601/4488/9).

The three organisations that offer the above NCFE qualification are ACT 2 CAM in North Tyneside, Jack Drum Arts in Co. Durham and Writers’ Block North East in Middlesbrough. As the North East consortium lead, Jack Drum Arts C.I.C. is an approved NCFE Provider who will be liaising with the other partners to manage and oversee the delivery of the qualification throughout the region. Internal quality assurance for all three organisations is therefore managed by Jack Drum Arts C.I.C.

Students will be required to work as part of a team to create at least one short film in addition to creating a portfolio which reflects their learning journey.
