Our Partners

YouthPrint County Durham is a countywide youth sector infrastructure programme delivered in partnership with eight anchor organisations. It is not a Jack Drum Arts-led project, but one we are proud to contribute to as Co-Anchor for the Durham Dales, working in partnership with TCR Hub (Barnard Castle) and other organisations supporting young people in youth settings.

YouthPrint brings together youth organisations, young people, and strategic partners across five localities, Durham City, East Durham, North Durham, Mid Durham, and the Durham Dales, to strengthen the youth sector, develop the workforce, and ensure young people have a meaningful voice in shaping services and decisions that affect them.

Developed in response to widening inequalities and long-term reductions in statutory youth provision, YouthPrint supports the voluntary and community sector, now the main provider of open-access youth work in County Durham, by improving coordination, building workforce capacity, and strengthening opportunities for training and collaboration. Jack Drum Arts delivers the BFI Film Academy Short Course across County Durham each year and works in partnership with Beacon Films (Tyneside) and Writers’ Block North East (Teesside). The course supports young people aged 16–25 to gain hands-on filmmaking experience, developing skills in areas such as directing, producing, cinematography, editing, and sound, while working with industry professionals to create their own short films.

Through our partnership, we help open pathways into the screen industries and support young people in building creative skills, confidence, and future career opportunities in film and television.

Jack Drum Arts is a partner of REACH (Research and Engagement across Communities for Health) County Durham, a collaborative initiative led by Durham County Council, Durham University, and Durham Community Action. We are an active member of its Community Involvement Steering Group, which brings together representatives from across the voluntary and community sector.

REACH works to improve health research by ensuring that communities play a central role in shaping its design and delivery. The programme aims to involve local people in ways that are fair, respectful, proportionate, and effective, so that community voices help influence research priorities and outcomes that are meaningful and impactful.

Through our involvement, Jack Drum Arts supports stronger community voice and contributes creative, inclusive approaches to how research connects with lived experience across County Durham. To find out more visit the REACH website
