Action Station Youth Club
Action Station provides a safe, welcoming space for young people aged 11–18 years to build friendships, confidence and self esteem.
Overview
Our weekly youth session is designed to combat loneliness, anxiety, and poor mental health through social connection and fun. It provides a safe space for young people to meet, play games, get arty, take part in social action and build lasting friendships in a welcoming, inclusive environment.
Each week we have the following activities on offer:
Art Studio led by freelance arts facilitators, offering hands-on opportunities in graffiti art, zine production, development of DJ skills etc as requested by young people
Games Room for engagement in activities such as Dungeons & Dragons role play, board games, and team challenges.
Chill-out Space where young people can relax, listen to music, and chat with friends in a safe, supportive environment.
Partnerships
We are an active member of the Durham Youth Print Network and are Co Anchor for the Durham Dales area working in partnership with TCR Hub who are based in Barnard Castle.
Impact
Sessions are inclusive of young people with physical and/ or learning disabilities, mental health challenges, LGBTQIA+ identities, refugee backgrounds, those in care, and care leavers. Young people are central to shaping the programme via a participant steering group.
