Welcome Resound Theatre - our new Jackass Youth Theatre Directors!

We are delighted to announce that Jackass Youth Theatre will be working with Resound Theatre for the next two months to devise a new outdoor production for premiere at Crook Winter Light Parade 2023.

Resound Theatre was founded in 2022 by Elliot Mann and Matt Wilks.

Elliot is a multidisciplinary artist and theatre-maker from Northumberland but currently based in Darlington. Since graduating in BA European Theatre Arts in 2021 Elliot has been working as a sound designer and facilitator across the UK for: Woven Nest Theatre, Little Angel Theatre, Good Chance Theatre, Commonwealth Theatre, Babel, Sunderland Empire and Middlesbrough Town Hall. Elliot is an associate artist with Czech physical theatre company Divadlo Continuo, having devised and performed in AGORA (2022) and VRSTVY (2023). Through Resound Theatre Elliot aspires to innovate in applying interactive sound design to making original, accessible theatre experiences.

Matt is a physical actor, theatre maker and movement director from the North of England. A graduate of East 15 Acting School, Matt has performed and taught across the UK and internationally. He co-founded the London based dance theatre company ‘Abstra Collective’ in 2021 and for the past 2 years he has been studying Eastern European movement and theatre pedagogies under the mentorship of Divadlo Continuo Theatre, where he is now an associate artist. Matt is continuing to expand his practice in contemporary movement training across the UK and Europe with a focus on exploring collaborative, neurodiverse led dance and theatre.

Resound Theatre coalesces the languages of movement and sound to devise shows and experiences that shake the ground beneath your feet. Using innovative sound technology and their unique movement practice, they make contemporary theatre which resounds with a broader audience and reaches those who may be left unseen.

Elliot and Matt are excited to be working with Jackass Youth Theatre, and hope you will join them to watch the premiere of their collaboration with Jackass Youth Theatre at Crook Winter Light Parade on Sunday 26th November 2023, 3.45pm. We look forward to seeing you there for what we are sure will be an exciting and sensorial experience!
