About B.O.P Fest

Led by a dedicated Youth Board of 14 young people aged 11–21, B.O.P Fest is more than just a festival, it’s the culmination of a year-long youth programme designed to empower young voices, spark creativity, and build community leadership.

From April to August, the board meets fortnightly to plan every element of the festival. In 2025, four young producers are leading the charge to make this the most inclusive, accessible, and impactful year yet.

This year, our theme is “One Health” – exploring the vital connections between human and planetary wellbeing. Through climate-conscious activities and informal education, the festival champions the message:

“A global problem with local solutions.”

Why B.O.P Fest Matters

  • 100% Free to attend – in response to the cost-of-living crisis

  • Powered sustainably – using on-site solar energy and low-waste practices

  • Youth-led from start to finish – putting young people at the heart of climate action

  • Backed by community spirit – run with love by local young people with the support of the team at Jack Drum Arts

  • Economy boosting - all vendors/artists and providers are from the North East, boosting the local economy

  • Spotlighting young talent - providing opportunities for local, young talent
