Investors in the Environment Bronze Accreditation

Earlier in October Jack Drum Arts had its first environmental audit through Genee and Investors in the Environment. We are thrilled to announce that we passed that audit and are now Bronze accredited!

We wouldn’t have done this without our participation in the fantastic Becoming Green Together programme, delivered by VONNE. We are so grateful for the opportunity to take a deep dive into sustainability, examine our organisation through that lens, and build the framework for systems and procedures that we hope will become standard practice for all organisations in the future.

This accreditation is the culmination of a year of hard work by our Sustainability Officer, Green Champion, and staff team. Everyone at Jack Drum Arts has contributed - sharing information and knowledge, offering suggestions for improving systems, developing documents, delivering projects and programmes, and getting grubby hands each Wednesday when we weigh our waste!

Through participation in the programme, our Sustainability Officer Jack Burton has developed our first Environmental Policy, Management System, and Action Plan, along with collection and recording systems to measure our emissions across the following scopes:

Gas, Electricity and Water usage, Staff Commuting and Business Travel, Freelance & Volunteer Travel, and Waste Production.

Jack Drum Arts will not stop there. This is after all, a Climate Emergency. We are committed to reaching Net-Zero emissions by 2030 and want to eventually be Green level Investors in the Environment, so this is just the beginning.

Watch out for a new Sustainability webpage on this site in the near future with our documents and policies available to download, and some jazzy infographics explaining the current state of play.

If you want to get involved in our efforts to reduce our carbon emissions, please let us know…
