As we celebrate Volunteers' Week, we're inviting YOU to be part of something special at Durham Miners' Gala on Saturday, July 12th. Join Jack Drum Arts and help us with our community music parade, Nordestinos!

For the past 3 years, Nordestinos has brought together some of the best of North East folk music, brass band traditions, and Brazilian rhythms. Last year, we proudly carried the Hole-in-the-Wall Banner from Crook through the streets of Durham, reconnecting with our heritage. This year, we want to make it bigger and better!

What can you do?

  • Carry banner poles (no need to be a weightlifter!)

  • Hold guide ropes (team effort!)

  • Support Nordestinos performers (refreshment duties and more!)

What you get:

  • Be part of a cultural spectacle at one of the world's oldest & largest trade union gatherings.

  • Connect with a vibrant community of volunteers and artists of all ages.
