Sound Out!

Sound Out! was an 18-month programme of high-quality musical participation courses for female carers in County Durham.

Courses on offer included World Drumming, Community Singing, Collective Music-Making, and Song Writing, with performance, training, and cultural trips for all involved. Additional support and activities for the ‘cared for’ were available to enable participation.

The project aimed to reduce loneliness and isolation, and improve the wellbeing of participants through achievement, community-building, and skills development.

Activities took place at venues all over the County, delivered by Jack Drum Arts’ creative team, professional musicians and world-class guest artists, including Cat Myers, Sam Slatcher, Beccy Owen, Sinead Livingston, and more.
