Cree Connections
Ongoing pastoral support embedded across our youth programmes
Overview
Cree Connections is the supportive thread that runs through all of Jack Drum Arts’ youth provision. It offers consistent, tailored pastoral care to young people, providing extra support for those facing barriers to engagement and simply being there when someone needs to talk. This initiative enables us to mentor emerging leaders, support volunteering, and foster independence and peer support.
Partnerships
Part of the County Cree Network, Cree Connections is supported by Public Health, Durham County Council.
Impact
Young people accessing our services benefit from regular interaction with experienced, trained staff who provide advice and guidance on key issues, particularly around mental health and wellbeing during the critical transition from childhood to adulthood.
Opportunities / Get Involved
A great entry point to Jack Drum Arts is Crook Games Club, our weekly youth session that combines fun and socialising with supportive pastoral care. It runs every Wednesday during term time, 6pm–8:30pm, for ages 11–19.
