Growing Green TV

Growing Green TV was a youth led programme of filmmaking activities made to equip young people with skills and experience to create video content relating to climate change and other environmental issues. Participants were supported by staff at Jack Drum Arts as well as local freelance filmmakers to learn practical filmmaking, planning and research skills. Young people linked with local decision makers and environmental organisations so that they could champion then-current strategies to combat climate change.

The project was targeted at young people aged 12 to 19 living in County Durham who are eager to learn how to make films, delve in to current social issues and gain experience that could boost their CV’s and university applications. Participants were given a platform and medium to raise awareness about the issues that matter most to them, and make their voice heard locally and globally.
